Dr. AJ Alvero and first-year sociology graduate student Ruohong Dong will present their paper “Following Trends or Principled Decision Making? Evaluating the Influence of NLP Benchmarks on Digital Sociology” during a Digital Sociology panel at the upcoming Southern Sociological Society (SSS) annual conference in April 2024. Their ongoing work examines the ways that sociologists adopt methods and techniques from the field of natural language processing.
