Dr. Erika Brooke, an Associate Instructional Professor, and Dr. Julie Baldwin, a Research Professor at American University and a graduate of the Criminology, Law and Society Program (2013), have been invited to present their research on the critical analysis of veterans treatment courts on November 10 at the University of St. Thomas Law Journal’s Fall Symposium, themed “After Their Service: The Intersection of Veterans and the Law” in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
This invited presentation is an update to their 2019 article, “Pausing in the wake of rapid adoption: A call to critically examine the veterans treatment court concept,” and provides a significant platform for them to share their expertise and research, thereby making a substantial contribution to the ongoing dialogues within the legal and academic communities on this vital subject.
