Congratulations to undergraduate sociology major Mariana Alemany for being selected as a Reubin Askew Scholar by the Bob Graham Center for Public Service. This competitive scholarship is awarded annually to a small cohort of students whose research demonstrates a commitment to civic engagement, public policy, public leadership, or public service. The scholarship provides $2,000 to support a significant research project. Mariana’s research will investigate student-led gentrification and its relationship to food deserts in Gainesville.
