New research on pet ownership and health

Congratulations to Jenny Applebaum! Jenny, a doctoral student in the Sociology program, has led a team of faculty and graduate students to develop, field, and analyze a survey about pet ownership and health during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Based on the collected data, she has published three articles in 2020 (all as the lead author) in Frontiers in Public Health, Animals, and One Health. Jenny has also been awarded a two-year TL1 clinical and translational pre-doctoral training fellowship.  She and her team are focusing collaborative efforts on the role of companion animals in successful aging in place.
