Topic-Specific Research Meetings

Family/Aging/Health with Won-tak Joo

Our aim is to study how family structures and kinship systems change with aging, and how these dynamics are associated with health outcomes. We apply various computational techniques—including network analysis, machine-learning-based regression models, sequence analysis, and advanced econometric methods—to contemporary survey datasets and historical records (e.g., decennial US Census, genealogy datasets) to enhance our understanding of family, aging, and health.
